    1. Turns out I've been doing this wrong for years. I have suspected my tomatoes weren't the best they could be and now I know why. Thanks Mr. McGrath for your humor and guidance - this year I totally got this!

    2. If you get a chance to hear Mike McGrath speak in person, don't miss it. He's entertaining, knowledgeable and makes you feel confident about growing tomatoes. Yes, confident! The book will help fill in those places you missed in your note-taking. Important lesson: use eggshells when planting (I'll let Mike tell you how and how many). I boil mine, but he didn't say anything about that. Happy planting! Or wait two months and I'll have tomato plants for your mostly, sunny spot.

    3. These tips are definitely helpful! The humor helps you to read this book along with learning helpful tidbits that I will definitely use to make my tomatoes grow better. The section on soil and pests was the most helpful to me. Who knew to use eggshells? I loved the hints of what to buy and what not to buy. With all the items out there to purchase this is definitely helpful and worthwhile.

    4. I probably should have read this book before buying tomato plantsbut I look forward to applying some of the strategies presented to keep them alive and thriving. Good for newbie gardeners - it explains the basics of selecting a variety, germinating, planting, and pest and disease control. Also, it's really funny, which you don't expect from a gardening book.

    5. McGrath's funny,ligh-hearted approach to growing tomatoes is both entertaining and informative. I will definitely try some of his tips this season.

    6. I've been gardening for years. I learned some GREAT tips from this book and loved his sense of humor. It was a fun read.
