    1. I purchased The Bones of Boulder Creek on the recommendation of a family member and settled in for a winter's read with reserved optimism for McCord's debut offering. Four hours later, I threw out the reserve and enthusiastically recommended this poignant coming of age novel to all my reading companions and their young adult children. Our main characters, Nathan, Halley Kate and the narrator, Chris, are not squeaky clean, Disneyesque, cookie cutter figures. They pull us back to thirteen, with all [...]

    2. As I know the author personally I know he would want me to write a truthful and honest review. I want to start by saying I really and truly enjoyed the book. As an avid reader I am forced to compare it to the many dozens of books of the same genres. It was better than a lot, but maybe not as good as some. I am looking forward to what he comes up with next and, as is often the case with first books, I know the writing will continue getting better with each book. The pros to this book were the use [...]

    3. I was so enthralled in the story of this book I couldn't put it down. S.H McCord writes in such a way that you really feel like you are in Boulder Creek seeing these events for yourself. I really enjoyed my trip to Boulder Creek. A story that also makes you think and reflect instead of just enjoying the story while you are reading and then it's over. Loved this book.I received a free copy of this book through a giveaway.

    4. The author came and talked to my bookclub, so my view on the book is probably a little biased. Having said that, I really enjoyed this coming-of-age story about three middle school outsiders trying to make their way in the world. I look forward to introducing my kids to this book when they get a little older. A fast and moving read.

    5. S.H. McCord has really created a wonderful coming of age book. The Bones of Boulder Creek kept me interested as well as intrigued throughout. There were many times I related to the time period, laughed out loud, or felt a heart tug because the writing was so clear & precise. I would highly recommend this book.

    6. Read this for our book club and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Wonderful, honest characters, and tells a good story. The author came to our book club (he is local to East Cobb), and hearing about his journey in writing this book made me love the book even more.

    7. Bones is one of the best books I've ever read. I loved reading about these three Middle Schoolers enduring a school year together. What a magnitude of emotions and adventures! Thanks for the recommendation!

    8. Outstanding story - I didn't want it to end. The author creates a town and characters so real, so vulnerable, I felt like I had a personal stake in each one. The butterfly scene is nothing short of magical. I can't wait to hear more from this author.

    9. Interesting read. I got this book to try out a story with children as the main characters and found it very enjoyable.

    10. I really enjoyed this book, what a great story about life, friendship and what motivates you to be a better person.
