    2. The thing is, the main throwback/alternate-universe/memory-loss storyline just feels like a detour from a larger storyline, of which we're seeing the middle chapters. I mean, it's a very well-done detour; Flynn is excellent at character and dialogue, both Spaziante and Yardley are good, clean, appealing artists, and there are a bunch of neat early-game/'90s cartoon jokes. But it's not, in and of itself, a satisfying story.

The Archie Comics have done a good job of incorporating every part of Sonic’s history, from the Sega games spanning several consoles to the four animated series’.
