    1. I picked up this secret gem at my local thrift store and was pleasantly surprised! June Fleming's writing style is enjoyable to engage with, making The Well-Fed Backpacker a really quick read, and her recipes look delicious! I can't wait to try these out before my next backpacking trip. (I may even try some of them for my daily life to be honest - I'm looking at you, Russian tea & fruit soup!) 2. I enjoyed this book, but I'd like to see an updated version. This one's about 25 years old now. The recipes and general information are still good, but any talk of prices are way, way out of date and there are also new types of trail food readily available that weren't common back then. 3. So far we have found this to be a very helpful book for the first time backpacker. The recipes we've tried were simple and delicious.

    4. Useful not only for its recipes, but guidelines on how to package & prepare. Will seriously reduce your learning curve out on the trail.
