    1. An excellent primer of freshwater ecology! This is a perfect introduction to the natural processes that occur in a typical watershed, as well as the threats posed by air and water pollution and unnatural disturbances. The watercolor paintings add a nice touch to the concise, well written text. Even at 141 pages, this book is easily read in one sitting, depending on your reading speed, and leaves you with a desire to get up and do something to conserve freshwater in your community. 2. I'm not really finished but after reading two chapters, I've decided I like it so much that I purchased it used for $4.00 (including S&H). It should be here in less than a week.

    4. A good all-round introduction to watersheds, how they are defined, how we use and abuse them, the effect of pollutants and excessive nutrients on aquatic ecosystems, lake eutrophication and dams.A quick easy read, obviously written for school students but still interesting. The beautiful watercolour illustrations are probably the best part of this book; I'll be referring back to this book just for artistic inspiration.
