    1. My Blood's Country is an enchanting book. I took it with me to read at the hairdresser’s today because everything else I am reading is too heavy for the handbag. Well now everything else is going to have to wait until I’ve finished reading this. I am completely captivated by the concept that lies behind the book, by the story of Judith Wright’s life and preoccupations, by the snippets from Wright’s poetry, and by Capp’s own beautiful way with words. It is an affectionate and honest mem [...]

    2. Fiona Capp’s “My Blood’s Country” is a restful read, a memoir really, drawing on her lifelong friendship with the late Judith Wright – poet, activist, environmentalist…great Australian. She was deeply in love with the land in a way [...]

    3. Our book group read this book and some liked it a lot, others found it neither fish nor fowl, memoir, hagiography, biography? All of us liked the way it drew us to or back to the poetry of Judith Wright. Each selected one of her poems and read it at appropriate places in the discussion. What a pleasure that turned out to be. Check out Judith Wright's poetry.

    4. A Beautifully written reflection on Judith Wright, her life , family and the country that influenced her political beliefs and poetry. The prose reads like a gently flowing river as it explores the landscape of a woman ahead of her time.
