    1. "I've been on my own a long time and I don't need a man's help.""Yes, ma'am." Brody tipped his hat. "I'll leave you to your business." He returned to his truck and drove away.Brody backing off so easily reaffirmed Kat's belief that handsome cowboys were a waste of time. She ought to know - Ricky's father had used his good looks and charm to take her for a ride, then had tucked tail and run after she'd turned up pregnant.Cowboys. Who needed them? The problem is, she does need a man's help. Also, [...]

    2. Harlequin has been providing fun reading for lovers of romance fiction for years. As the decades have passed, their lineup of authors has expanded and their various areas of interest have expanded as well. Here we have a classic "cowboy" novel that is set in contemporary times, involving a rodeo bull rider, a man who is tall and hunky, good looking and who fits the physical qualifications of being a man's man. But Brody Murphy is a hollow shell of a man, one who has decided that he doesn't now o [...]

    3. originally posted at longandshortreviews.cCould two such different people as Brody Murphy and Katarina Sova find anything in common, let alone share a romance? Brody, a bull rider and, by his own admission not a very good one, lives for the moment and the ride, which is the only thing that makes him forget the death of his daughter, Angel. He moves from rodeo to rodeo, and seems to have a death wish. So deep are his hurt and his feelings of unworthiness that he cannot allow himself to feel anyth [...]

    4. He's running from his past; she's trying to make a future. She's a woman trying to make it in a man's world; he's a man looking after a woman who needs help. She has a son in the throes of first love (and lust). We know how it ends, right? Let's see, what to talk about.well, they are intimate before marriage, and we watch, sort ofI mean that if you are looking for a how-to manual here, you'll only get part way there. I liked her, but didn't like that she couldn't handle the "man's" job without a [...]

    5. THE BULL RIDER'S SECRET. From the very title of this book, it had me curious. What possibly could Brody, a bull rider, be hiding? It is a secret so steeped in emotion and tragedy that my heart broke for him. How can someone even survive after this unbelievable heartache? Brody does survive and then thrives once he meets Kat and her teenage son, Ricky.I was well connected with the characters in this book and was invested in the story. Although it is a short novel, it is filled with an interesting [...]

    7. This is a short novel dealing with the wounds in one man's heart--a man who is working very hard to keep from dealing with his past, and one who is on the road to self-destruction, even if he is not honest about the fact that such is his goal. His chance encounter with a 13-year-old kid at the rodeo will initiate some encounters that will change his life and force him to deal with his own choices both past and present. A very nice read and one that is not a simplistic story--deals with some subs [...]

    8. A chance meeting changes the course of three lives. Given a second chance at having a family, Brody, a broken excuse of a bull rider, runs multiple times. Only the attempts of a boy keep bringing him back. While the book has a feel good ending, the characters aren't consistent and I was left with a "blah" feeling concerning the book.Disclaimer: A copy of this book was provided by the publisher.

    9. If you enjoy a book starring a sexy cowboy with a tragic past, a spirited single mom and a precocious yet exasperating teenage boy, then you are going to fall in love with The Bull Rider’s Secret by Marin Thomas. To read this review in its entirety, please visit thereadersroundtable/mains

    10. Not sure how I feel about this one yet. Brody was a little too wishy-washy for my tastes, and his manners were atrocious! He took off, not just once, but twice, with nary a good-bye. It's a wonder Kat didn't have a huge complex, considering that ALL of the men in her life kept up and ditching her!
