    1. The illustrations in this book are so darn cute!!! I love them! They are child-like in imagination and feel without being demeaningly "childish" and I just smiled all the way through. The story itself is cute--a little bit of a mystery as to how Meriam (the little girl) can go on so many deep-sea adventures in one day There is a surprise at the end of the tale/tail ;->

    2. Um, Spoiler Alert? This tale of a little girl getting ready for bed was cute. We enjoyed the pictures and hearing of her adventures, but I don't believe we really got in to the drama of the last page as the author may have intended. I don't know if the fact that we SEE that Meriam is in fact a mermaid at the very end of the book is supposed to be some sort of twist, but since the book is called "MERMAID Dreams" (emphasis mine), neither of us was incredibly shocked to see her fins. Still cute, bu [...]

    3. This book is about a little girl who is getting ready for bed, and as her mother is combing her tangled hair she keeps finding things that belong in the ocean in Miriam’s hair. With each item that Miriam’s mother finds in her hair, Miriam explains that she got it from the ocean as she swam deeper and deeper. First it was a shell, then sand, seaweed, a starfish, a clam with a pearl for her mother, a little fish, and a baby crab. At the end of the story Miriam is glad she does not have to clea [...]

    4. My four-year-old daughter's name is very close to that of the heroine (Mariam vs. Meriam—flip around the last three letters and you get MERMAI, see?) and she just discovered mermaids, so of course there's a lot for her to get excited about from a visual point of view. As another reviewer noted, the ending is ambiguous—is Meriam really a mermaid, or is she a girl who dreams of being one and enjoying all the adventures a real mermaid would? In any case, it's currently a big hit at our house; w [...]

    5. This is a fun tale about a little girl getting ready for bed. While her mama is helping her, she discovers all kinds of odd ocean-themed items in her hair, like seaweed. This is a fun tale, with cartoonish illustrations and enough detail for children to enjoy pointing out items in the pictures. Our girls really enjoyed this book.

    6. Colorful, folksy illustrations of a mother washing/brushing/cleaning out her daughter's tangled hair. A tiny bit enchanting in its colors and overall whimsy but rather bland in characterization and story.

    7. The illustrations are mesmerizing and intricate and the story is just a fun of a girl with everything in the ocean in her hair.

    8. The illustrations in the book were cute and it is a good book for imagination but I didn't love this book.
