    1. A collection of three novellas, part of the Rose series by Julie Garwood. One Pink Rose and One Red Rose were actually rereads for me. They were short but sweet. I would have liked for Ms Garwood to have fleshed out the characters and stories a little more but overall they were enjoyable. These stories were about three of the Clayborne "brothers", Travis, Douglas and Adam. (Cole has his own book Come the Spring.) Chapter one begins with a story about an incident that involved Mama Rose and a man [...]

    2. I think I've been grading Julie Garwood's books a little high based on nostalgia alone, but as I've been re-reading her, there are aspects to her writing that I'm beginning to find a little dated and tiresome, things I guess I never really noticed or cared about before when I was much younger and a little less picky about what I read. In the case of this book, it was even more noticeable because it's a collection of three stories in the same series, and though each story features a different set [...]

    4. This is three short stories about three of the brothers from "For the Roses" falling in love. It is pretty much straight love story, not much sexual content. The first two stories aren't bad, just formulaic. The third story is the reason I gave this book two stars instead of three. I thought it was ridiculous to completely ignore the fact that Adam was African-American and living in the wild west. You wouldn't even know it unless you read the first book as he is just described as having dark hai [...]

    5. This book is compiled of three short stories that tell about how Travis, Douglas, and Adam find the loves of their lives. Travis' story is funny and romantic,Douglas' story is sweet and touching, while Adam's story is full of adventure and mysteries. If I had to pick a favorite it would be Douglas' story because he has to deliver a baby.

    7. Love this author. This book was a little hard to read out of sequence. Liked characters, like plot. Romance was predictable.

Buku Kedua One Whit [...]

    10. This book is made up of three stories telling us how the Claiborne brothers each found their wives. One Pink Rose: This story is about Travis, the youngest brother. He was asked by his Mama Rose to accompany and travel with Emily Finnegan to meet a man she was supposed to marry. It turns out this story was an 1800s Catfish - the man Emily never met to marry, only writing letters, was a mean, ugly, dirty man who was going to 'share' her with his brothers. Travis and Emily are trapped and Travis w [...]

    11. Three short stories about the Clayborne Brothers. One Pink Rose: Mama Rose asks Travis Clayborne to escort mail-order bride Emily Finnegan through Montana to meet her groom, O'Toole. He doesn't expect to be attracted to her, even though he suspects she might be crazy. One White Rose: Douglas Clayborne travels to Parker Grant's ranch to collect the horse he purchased six months ago. He finds Parker has been killed and his wife, Isabel, is in labor. Douglas helps her with the birth and vows to prote [...]

    12. They really need half and quarter stars. 3.25 actually. While it was better than the first book, it was an anthology and all that entails. The first short, featuring Travis, had a h who was a dingbat. No-really. She went for the mail order bride thing and, after deciding that she couldn't go through with it, insisted on telling the man in person, leading to the discovery that it was actually a man, his brother, and some other man, none of who were really willing to take no for an answer. H was sh [...]

    13. One Pink Rose - Travis is asked to escort a woman to the town of Golden Crest. Emily was going to marry a man she's been corresponding with. Getting her there was an adventure and she is tougher than she looks. the night with One Eye Jack was priceless as well as the scene in the road when she is trying to leave. Loved it!One White Rose - Douglas goes to pick up a horse and ends up delivering a baby. Now he's taking care of both mom and baby. Isabel Grant is sitting on land that someone else wan [...]

    14. The three stories were nice, enjoyable to read. However, each story's plot had potential for something more. I got the feeling the author had rushed too fast through the story of each main character like she had been in some sort of a hurry. Sometimes it felt the main characters (except Cole) weren't the same as in the first book (For the Roses). One other thing that bothered me was a fact that author had completely ignored Adam's and Genevieve's colour of skin. I wasn't quite sure if Genevieve [...]

    16. The Clayborne Brides trilogy by Julie Garwood.Three short stories written back in the late 90's seem pretty typical of an author's early writings. One Pink Rose - the female lead - Emily - had spunk and some clever dialog. One White Rose - Less interesting than the Pink Rose. One Red Rose - did not like at all. My least favorite female character type: I won't trust or listen to my male lead because I'm just sure I can save him and it's all my fault, etc. I wanted this book to be a good one, but A [...]

    17. I knew this book was 3 stories, but I didn't expect them to be quite so short. The stories felt very rushed and characters changed their decisions without any explanation. For example in #2 the hero laments the fact that her cabin is built on a flood plain, it's mentioned several times and he thinks 'i should tell her' since she is refusing to leave her cabin, then suddenly 30 pages later she's thinking 'oh yeah, it's built on a flood plain and everybody in town told us it was a bad location, I [...]

    18. Narrated by David Marshall Grant with special introduction by Julie Garwood.I've always bemoaned the fact that Ms Garwood never gave Adam, Douglas and Travis their own full length books. I think they deserved them! This was an abridged audio version of 3 short stories, so talk about being condensed!!It also had an ending from Julie Garwood and was produced before Come the Spring, the last Clayborne book with Cole and Marshall Ryan introduced during these novellas. The addition of the author in th [...]

    19. I was a little disappointed in this book because I loved the the first on in the series so much. The first story with Travis and Emily was my favorite of the three. Some of their interactions were pretty funny. Douglas was always my favorite brother and I liked his story, but I just didn't love it. I have to say the best part was Isabel confronting him at the end. My problem with Adam's story was that he didn't seem like he was in the first book. He was almost a completely different person. Gene [...]

    20. I give this book a solid 4. It was 3 short stories. I really liked each story of 3 of the Clayborne brothers.Travis and Emily was a cute story. She became a mail order bride after being jilted at the alter in Boston. Travis was her escort. Good story with a great twist.Douglas and Isabel was another cute story. Douglas has to deliver a baby. He has only ever delivered colts before. How hard can it be to deliver a baby?Adam and Genevieve. Adam the oldest brother, a confirmed bachelor till he come [...]

    21. I was very hopeful after my love for For the Roses, that these follow-up short stories would have the warmth and love I'd found in that book. But of the three stories here, only the first one brought me the same measure of contentment. The other two seem less fully formed, and by the final one, the heroine is so "damsel in distress" that it was infuriating. There is also the issue that the final story is about people of color, yet their skin tone is utterly incidental to the story rather than de [...]

    22. The Clayborne Brides is three books in one. Three previously published novellas (One Pink Rose, One White Rose, One Red Rose) combined into one book about three of the Clayborne brothers: Travis, Douglas and Adam and how they met their wives. We met these brothers in For the Roses. These are quick little reads and nice romance stories. However, because they are so short there isn't really a lot of time to develop the stories. The romance seems rushed and the villains seem very one dimensional. T [...]

    23. I was prepared to be bored. Instead I was charmed. In this book, there are romances for 3 of the 4 (unmarried) Clayborne brothers. Travis and Emily. Douglas and Isabel. Adam and Genevieve. It wasn't a big deal that one of the couple is African-American. I appreciate that it is normal for everyone to fall in love. We didn't see a romance for Cole. I kept waiting for a romance between him and Daniel Ryan. Because it is normal for everyone to fall in love, if we are lucky. Skin color and gender pref [...]

    24. Three books (2-4) in one audiobook. Bonus! I enjoyed these tales so much. Momma Rose clearly wants her sons to find happiness in love and marriage and plays her hand at making it happen. And, although, she never speaks a word in these 3 stories, she's a big presence. I believe there is a book before and after these and I'm not anxious to read them. This only covered 3 of the brothers and there's still one more to be married off. :)I recommend these stories set in the old west for anyone that lik [...]

    25. This was a new author for me (recommended on ) and initially I wasn't too sure. I found the first story a bit sluggish but the second was better and I really enjoyed the third one. I have got "For the Roses" to start next which is the same characters which (unlike these three novellas) is a full length novel. I think that this should mean that the characters are better fleshed out so hope to enjoy it.
