    1. I was in the second grade when Hurricane Katrina was happening, although I never actually saw the hurricane myself. One of the things I remember most about the disaster was the news reports on it. I saw it covered on the two major Canadian television stations (CBC and CTV) - and also on CNN. This book, put out by CNN News, features stunning photographs, input from the people involved and scientific info on the hurricane itself.

    2. I purchased this book while attending a conference in New Orleans and touring the sites most impacted by the disaster. This is a well-written and thoroughly documented publication. I highly recommend this book for anyone wanting a balanced look at how the local, state and federal government ineptly handled this terrible event. Sadly, we are quicker to send aid to foreign countries than to help our own.
