    1. An endearing and effective short story that can help children learn to enjoy creative writingMy review specifically covers only the one short story, "Your Question for Author Here" by Kate DiCamillo and Jon Scieszka.A young boy, in order to fulfill a school assignment, begrudgingly writes to an author. This begets a brilliant spat of correspondence back and forth, wherein the author slowly draws out the boy's innate knack for, and love of, writing. This one story far outshines every other in the [...]

    2. This short story is fabulous. My 10- and 7- year old boys have listened to this multiple times in the car, my husband and I enjoy it too. It is witty and heart warming. And some lessons to be learned: good people can make bad choices and are still good people, sometimes you need to go out on a limb for someone because you can and should, sometimes putting your heart into something you don't want to do reveals some surprising results, we have more in common with each other than we think if we tak [...]

    3. One of my favorite assignments when I was in elementary school was when I wrote to my favorite author at the time. And she wrote back! This student was not every excited to start this project, but luckily this author knows her student audience to a T and was able to get him motivated and reading in a funny and entertaining manor.

    4. Love this epistolary story between an author and a young man who isn't quite excited about his Question for the Author assignment. Wonderful story. I would include this in any author study curriculum, perhaps as a delightful treat after the unit is over.

    5. Delightful. I am still harboring resentment from the time Alan Menken did not write me back in 1995. So I enjoyed this correspondence of a boy and the author he writes. Also it appears to be part of some initiative to get youngish boys to read and I can applaud that too.
