    1. "Grandmaster Angel Cabales was a legend in his time, victor in 35 death matches, the grandfather of Escrima (Filipino stick fighting) in America (coming out of his school in Stockton, California), and the teacher of famous martial artists such as Dan Inosanto (the most famous student of Bruce Lee), as well as many other masters who carry on his legacy. This book, written by one of his former students, Mark Wiley, provides an excellent tribute to the Grandmaster and his fighting art, as well as p [...]

    2. Mark V. Wiley was one of the late Grand Master Angel Cabales' personal students. This book shares some of his stories about his training in Cabales Serrada Escrima. Stories and experiences are also shared from several of GM Cabales' other students, who have also gone on to become masters in their own right. It was a real pleasure to find an entry by Grand Master Carlito Bonjoc Jr whom I had the honor of seeing demonstrate last month at GM Robert Castro's birthday celebration. This book also outli [...]

    3. Currently still reading this book but very interesting. I borrowed this book from a co-worker who happens to be a student with the Angel's disciples under Darren Tibon. Interesting so far with stories from his previous students. In particular, his biography from the Philippines to Stockton (my home town, yeah) was enlightening. Towards the ends, are some techniques which I have not got to yet but will soon. You will enjoy this book if you are into Escrima and Filipino martial arts in general.

    4. The Esrcrima of Angel Cabales really does seem to be a Martial art where the principles are ultimately more important than the techniques. The book does a great job of making the priniciples of this art understandable. The only thing The only thing to really nit pick about with this book is that the technique pictures and the written descriptions are often on different pages.
