    2. Let not your rage or malice destroy a life-for indeed, he who does not value it, does not himself deserve it.-Leonardo da Vinci

    3. Read this book with Solomon for 1st term of grade 3. I enjoyed the book and thought it very interesting. Although I was thinking this would have been good to read during the term we studied Da Vinci as our artist instead.

    4. I had high hopes for this book, being so interested in Da Vinci; however, it was a great disappointment. There was much information that I enjoyed, but the read was such a bore.

    5. Well, it looks like my daughter is going to get an introduction to historical spin. I've been reading through her assigned schoolbooks, and a couple of days ago I finished The Second Mrs. Giaconda, a story based on the life of Leonardo da Vinci. This current book is next on the reading list and is a more conventional biography of the man. The names are the same, but the personalities and relationships must have been changed to protect the innocent or something. The Giaconda book presents a cast [...]

    6. This was a good read, but I must confess, I skipped a few chapters. I think we all understood the general character and brilliance of Leonardo da Vinci after the first 7 chapters, so I skipped to the last one and wrapped it up. Surprisingly, the book portrays him as a brilliant man with an unsteady character. Diving into whatever subject fascinated him, until he found something else that fascinated him further still. He would then drop the project he was on and purse something else, leaving many [...]

    7. Interesting.I know very little about Leonardo Da Vinci so I have nothing to compare this with. I will read another biography of him soon. This book portrayed him as a genius but also a bit unstable. He didn't seem to finish very much of what he started and often followed his various whims.I'm curious to see if my daughter uses him as an excuse to not finish her various endeavours. Maybe my lack of completion of projects can be counted as a genius disposition too. :-)

    8. It wasn't what i was expecting at all ! It doesn't go him justice, he is a brilliant person and yet she portrayed him as something else . Half the book was just history and she didn't speak enough about how amazing he was

    9. A good biography for young adults about this brilliant, eccentric artist/engineer/inventor, written in an easy-to-read, conversational style.
