    1. Redheaded twin PI's on the back of a pink Harley are here to save the night for the goth crowd in Venice Beach. Someone has killed their beloved vampiress and the PI's refuse to let go of the case. Teamed up with the Three Bruces, can they find the person who killed their old high school chum, or is it true that vampires do exist and one brought the wanna-be into the fold? These aren't the Bobsey twins. These are witty girls, one naughty and one nice. They are orphans with only one crazy aunt and [...]

    2. #3 McAfee Twins comic mystery PI seriesRed-headed 20-something twins Kerry & Terry McAfee, PI's in Los Angeles, ride again! On their pink Harley Davidson, that is :-)Their former high school pal Darby Applewhite, aka Ephemera, Queen of the Undead, hires them to work crowd control at the annual Venice Goth Parade. But when her coffin opens she does NOT jump out as planned -- she's really, truly dead. The crime-fighting twins investigate, much the the handsome homicide cop's dismay. (Will he ar [...]

    3. Oh, I know I should have zero expectations for a book about vampires in Venice Beach, but I kept holding out with the hope that things would get better. I mean, the premise is pretty decent, and the characters are tolerable (think the sisters from Weiner’s “In Her Shoes” as twins and working together as investigators); too bad the writing is god-awful, full of groaningly bad clichés, transparently predictable plot points and, worst, inexplicably vanishing characters. And, oddly enough, th [...]

    4. This book was hysterical! Twin private investigators, Kerry & Terry, take on security detail for a former homecoming queen-turned-vampire queen! All is well, until the queen of the undead turns up dead! Now the twins feel obligated to solve the mystery along with a cast of very odd characters. Once the corpse goes missing, it seems that there's more here than meets the eye! Now I want to go back and read the previous 2 books in the series!

    5. I picked up this book as a summer reading bingo square. 'A book from a display' and it was on a display. I can't imagine why. On the plus side it was a quick read. On the minus, the characters were unoriginal and cliché - good twin, bad twin, orphan, codependent, etc. The story was interesting enough, although they didn't explain everything in tje end. The subplot of the dogs was unnecessary and disjointed with the rest of the book. I did not care for it at all.

    6. Definitely a beach read. "The Vampire of Venice Beach" is part of a series following two redheaded PI's who investigate crime on the back of a bright pink Harley in the Los Angeles area. This installment (and the only one I've read) is about unraveling a murder in the vampire community of Venice Beach. While it definitely has it's flaws, the book is fun, the writing pretty witty and all in all an enjoyable read.

    7. The book cover caught my eye. I love an easy read for the weekend. I was entertained but wouldn't say it is for everyone. I will look for more of Jennifer's books at the library.

    8. Similar to the previous books in style. Another adventure. Still good humor. Will continue with the series.
